A day-night cycle in estimation systems is a system where the rate at which a YouTube channel grows slows down or speeds up depending on the current time.

An example of a day-night cycle for PewDiePie, as seen on MinMax's stream.
Another example of a day-night cycle for T-Series, as seen on Nia Stats' stream. T-Series is seen slowly losing subscribers at night.
